CB Nominees for NS Music Week Awards

A number of Cape Bretoners have been nominated for awards during Nova Scotia Music Week, this fall.

Sydney’s Carleton Stone and The Town Heroes from Inverness each picked up five nominations.

The Cape Breton acts will be battling against each other for entertainer of the year.

Mabou native Jimmy Rankin is in the running for four awards including male artist recording of the year and recording of the year.

Cape Breton band Còig has been nominated for new artist recording and roots/traditional recording for their debut album “Five.”

Cheticamp’s Maxim Cormier is nominated for jazz recording of the year,

Cormier will go up against Ronald Bourgeois for Acadian/Francophone artist of the year.

Other Cape Breton nominees include Allie Bennett, Keith Mullins, Angelo Spinazzola, Dave Sampson and Gillian Boucher.

Nova Scotia Music Week takes place in Truro from November 6-9.
