The Progressive Conservative caucus office says that Alfie MacLeod is currently undergoing treatment for a serious infection at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
MacLeod is quoted as saying he’s committed to making a full recovery and resuming his MLA duties as soon as his health permits.
No more details have been released on his condition and MacLeod has asked for privacy while he recovers.
