Two Fatal Weekend Accidents in Cape Breton

There were two fatal accidents in Cape Breton over the long weekend.

A 59-year-old man from Middle River died after the car he was in crashed on Highland Road off the Cabot Trail on Friday night.

Police say the man along with a 53-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man, also from Middle River, were thrown from the truck when it left the road at around 7:30.

The surviving occupants from the vehicle were seriously injured and have been taken to hospital in Halifax.

The name of the man who died has not been released and the RCMP say the accident remains under investigation.

And, on Saturday, one of the tradesmen who made regular appearances on the TV reality show Holmes on Homes died in waters off Aspy Bay.

41-year-old John Craig Lowe from Mississauga, Ontario was diving alone when he went missing.

His body was recovered at around midnight on Saturday.

An autopsy is due to be conducted, this week.
