Two More Arrests and Arrest Warrant Issued in North Sydney Beating Case

Two more people charged in connection with a brutal assault on a homeless man in North Sydney last week are due in court today.

47-year-old Gordon William Bobbitt and 34-year-old James Darren Clarke have each been charged with obstruction of justice in the case.

The Northside men were arrested on Saturday and are being at the Cape Breton Correctional Centre.

Police say they also seized a wrench they believed was used in the attack on Shawn Kurtis Jack as well as a bandana after searching a home on King Street in North Sydney.

Police are still looking for another suspect in the case.

A Canada-wide warrant has been issued for 22-year-old Cory Blinkhorn from Sydney Mines.

He’s described as 5’ 8” tall, weighing 186 lbs, with black hair and brown eyes.

The 48-year-old victim was found bloodied and bruised in the parking lot of the Atlantic Superstore in North Sydney shortly before midnight, last Monday.

Police says Jack is now in a Halifax hospital in serious condition with head and other injuries.

Meanwhile, an internet crowdfunding campaign for him has raised nearly 17-thousand dollars.
