RCMP Notify Family Of Glace Bay Man About A Body Being Found

The family of a missing Glace Bay man has been notified by the RCMP after a body was found in Alberta’s Bow River on the weekend.

19-year-old Justin McNeil was camping with friends south of Calgary on June 22 when he fell into the Highwood River while it was under a high stream-flow advisory.

Police say McNeil was caught up in the current and swept downstream.

Following his disappearance, members of McNeil’s family travelled to Alberta to help search for the missing man.

Yesterday, the RCMP said a body of a young man was found by fishermen on the Bow River late Saturday afternoon.

They can’t yet confirm if it is McNeil but add an autopsy will likely be performed, today.
