Three Suspicious Weekend Fires In Sydney

Cape Breton Regional Police are looking into a possible connection between three suspicious fires in Sydney on the weekend.

Police got the first call to a shed fire on Argyle Street at around 12:20 on Saturday morning.

About a half hour later, emergency crews were call to a blaze at a house with three apartments on nearby Lorway Avenue.

No one was hurt in the fire, but the building suffered extensive damage.

Shortly after the Lorway Avenue fire, police say another homeowner on the residential street had to put out a fire on their front door after someone set a wreath on fire.

Police say because the incidents happened so closely together it’s possible the fires are connected.

They add their investigation continues.
