The Cape Breton-Victoria Regional School Board has hired its first female Superintendent.

Board Human Resources Director Beth MacIsaac will move into the job when current Superintendent Ambrose White retires.

MacIsaac began her teaching career at Memorial High School in Sydney Mines.

She’s served in various co-ordinator roles with the board before becoming Director of Human Resources.

Board chair Lorne Green says MacIsaac is an accomplished educator and leader who will serve the needs of students and staff very well.
