Fate of John Lynn’s Severance and His Hires Unclear

For the second day in a row, Enterprise Cape Breton Corporation was a hot topic in the House of Commons, yesterday.

ACOA Minister Rob Moore announced that he was taking steps to fire ECBC CEO John Lynn after a report from the federal integrity commissioner was filed.

The report concludes that Lynn breached the corporation’s code of conduct by hiring Conservative insiders without competition.

Moore has yet to say if those hired by Lynn will keep their jobs when ECBC is absorbed by ACOA.

The Conservatives won’t say what, if any, severance payments will be made to Lynn.

Lynn’s position will be discontinued sometime next month, when the Conservatives are expected to introduce legislation to have ACOA take over ECBC.
