65 New COVID Cases, 15 In Eastern Zone

The province is reporting 65 new cases of COVID-19 today.

15 of those cases are in the Eastern Zone that includes Cape Breton.

41 are in the Central Zone, seven are in the Northern Zone and two are in the Western Zone.

The province is also reporting a new case involving a staff member at My Cape Breton Home for Seniors in North Sydney.

Most residents have been fully vaccinated but those in affected units are being tested as a precaution.

The province is also reporting 184 recoveries today, bringing the total amount of confirmed active cases down to 1,143.

The number of people in the province in hospital with the virus has gone down to 87 from 101 yesterday but there are still 20 people in intensive care.  

There’s now a total of 130 confirmed active cases in the Cape Breton County Community Health Network and three in the Inverness, Victoria and Richmond Community Health Network.
