The Health Authority says there were 63,221 people on the waiting list for a family doctor or nurse practitioner as of March 1st.
That’s a drop of 2,569 from February 1st.
Nova Scotia Health says that number accounts for people newly added to the Need a Family Practice Registry, people removed because they were attached to a nurse practitioner or family doctor, or people removed because they were found to no longer need a provider for a variety of reasons.
The percentage of the province’s population on the registry is six percent.
The next update of the registry will be in early April.
