by Elections Nova Scotia says, as of 6:00 on Saturday evening, a total of 53,304 early votes have been cast in the provincial election.
The independent agency says the total includes the number of write-in ballot applications processed, plus early votes cast at returning office continuous polls, community polls, and advance polls.
At the same point in the 2021 provincial election, a total of 60,684 early votes had been cast.
Until Saturday, people can vote at any early voting location in the province, not just in their electoral district.
There will be extended hours until 8:00 at night at all early voting locations on Thursday and Friday.
