35-Year Old Woman Killed In Pictou County Crash

A 35-year-old Halifax woman is dead after a three-vehicle crash on the Trans Canada in Pictou County, yesterday afternoon.

RCMP say an SUV travelling east on Highway 104 crossed the centre line and hit the rear driver’s side of an oncoming pick-up truck.

They add the SUV then collided head-on with a car coming in the opposite direction.

The crash happened shortly after 3:30 in Broadway.

Police go on to say a three-year-old girl and a four-year-old boy were in the car with the woman who died.

They add the girl was not injured but the boy was taken to hospital and is expected to survive.

The driver of the SUV was a 72-year-old woman from Pomquet in Antigonish County.

She was airlifted to hospital in Halifax.

The people in the pick-up truck were not hurt.
