34 COVID Cases Reported

The province is reporting 34 new cases of COVID-19 today.

There are no new cases reported in the Eastern Zone that includes Cape Breton.

32 of the cases are in the Central Zone, where health officials say they’re continuing to see signs of community spread among people aged 20 to 40 who are unvaccinated and participating in social activities.

There’s also one new case each in the Northern and Western Zones.

The province is also reporting 12 more recoveries today, bringing its total number of confirmed active cases to 169, including seven in the Cape Breton County Community Health Network, and one in the Inverness, Victoria and Richmond Community Health Network.

14 people in the province are now in hospital with COVID-19, including one person in intensive care.
