29 Year-Old Man Facing Charges After Sydney Mines Arrest

Regional Police say a 29 year-old man is facing weapons charges after they made what they describe as a high risk vehicle stop in Sydney Mines, last night.

Police say they responded to a call about a weapons complaint at a home in Florence at around 6:30, yesterday evening.

They add they were told a 29 year old man had a weapon and may cause harm to himself, and was driving a vehicle.

They go on to say they stopped a vehicle on Pond Road in Sydney Mines and took the man into custody.

They say a weapon was seized from the vehicle and the man has been taken to the Regional Hospital to await a crisis assessment.
