18 Arrested In Prostitution Bust

Regional Police say 18 men have been charged in the latest prostitution sting in downtown Sydney.

Police say the arrests were made over a period of six weeks following several months of investigation, that included the use of undercover police officers.

The men charged range in age from 26 to 85, and they’ve been released as they await court appearances beginning on Monday.

Police say they’ve filed a total of over 40 charges as a result of the investigation, with other charges including theft, impaired driving and fraud, as well as breaches and vehicle offences.

It was the second major prostitution sting in downtown Sydney in recent years.

An operation in 2015 resulted in charges against 27 men.
