16 New COVID Cases Reported

The province is reporting 16 new cases of COVID-19 today as it renews its State of Emergency.

One of the new cases is in the Eastern Zone that includes Cape Breton and is related to travel.

The other 15 cases are all in the Central Zone.

Health officials say four are related to travel, while eleven are connected to a group of families and are not a sign of community spread.

The province is reporting 15 recoveries today, bringing the total number of confirmed active cases to 60.

Those include eight cases in the Cape Breton County Community Health Network and one in the Inverness, Victoria and Richmond Community Health Network.

Two people in the province are in hospital with the virus and neither person is in intensive care.

The State of Emergency has been extended to July 11th.
