15 New COVID Cases, 6 In Eastern Zone

The province is reporting 15 new cases of COVID-19 today.  

Six of those cases are in the Eastern Zone that includes Cape Breton.

Four of those cases are close contacts of earlier reported cases and two are related to travel.

The province’s Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Robert Strang says there are fewer cases in the Sydney area in people in their 30’s and no sign of community spread in the area. 

The other nine cases reported today are all in the Central Zone.

The province is reporting 37 recoveries today, bringing the total number of confirmed active cases down to 251.

Those cases include 61 in the Cape Breton County Community Health Network and one in the Inverness, Victoria and Richmond Community Health Network.

There are 21 people in the province in hospital with COVID-19, including eight in intensive care.
