13 Year-Old Sydney Boy Charged After Cab Driver Stabbed

A 13 year old Sydney boy is facing a number of charges after a cab driver was stabbed in Sydney, early Saturday morning.

Regional Police say officers spotted the driver yelling for help from his cab that was stopped on Bentinck Street, shortly after 3:30.

They say the 65 year-old was bleeding from several stab wounds.

He was taken to the Regional Hospital, treated and released.

Police arrested the 13 year-old boy who was a passenger in the cab.

He was taken to hospital for treatment of what police describe as a minor injury.

The boy faces charges of aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and two breaches of probation.

He was held in custody over the weekend to await an appearance in Sydney Provincial Court, later this morning.
