10-Thousand In New Waterford Area Under Boil Water Advisory

10-thousand people in New Waterford, Scotchtown, River Ryan, New Victoria and Lingan remain under a boil water advisory, this morning.

The Regional Municipality put the advisory into effect as a precaution on Saturday after it says one sample showed quality concerns.

It adds the advisory can’t be lifted until it gets two clear samples from the same location.

It goes on to say lab results from a second sample are expected by midday, today.

In the meantime, people in the area are being asked to boil all water for at least a minute before drinking it or brushing their teeth, preparing infant formula, juices and ice cubes and washing fruits and vegetables.
