Well-Dressed Bandit Suspect Arrested in Cape Breton
A Glace Bay native was arrested in the Sydney area last week by Toronto police, who were investigating a series of bank robberies involving a suspect they call the “well-dressed bandit.”
Regional Police say they assisted the Metro Toronto hold-up unit that arrested 47-year-old William Richard Turner and took him back to Toronto.
They add Toronto police also seized some evidence while in the Sydney area.
Media reports from Toronto reveal the Canadian Bankers Association offered a $10,000 reward in March for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a suspect in the “well-dressed bandit” case.
Toronto police say a man robbed a bank in October dressed in a suit and tie.
In three following robberies over the next month, they add the man changed his appearance, but was seen with a black gun that came in a tan-coloured carrying case that matched his tan-coloured gloves.
