Vice-Admiral Mark Norman Retiring
Vice-Admiral Mark Norman is retiring from the military after he faced a breach of trust charge that was later dropped.
The military’s former second-in-command was accused of leaking cabinet secrets in favour of Quebec-based Davie Shipyard on a 700 million-dollar shipbuilding contract.
The Crown dropped the charge against Norman last month, saying there was little chance of a conviction in the case.
The government says Norman decided to retire after discussions between his lawyer and Crown lawyers led to what’s being called a mutually acceptable agreement.
It says the details of the agreement are confidential.
