Two Men Facing Weapons Charges

Regional Police say two men are facing weapons charges after being caught illegally possessing a gun and ammunition in Whitney Pier on Friday night.

Police say they saw suspicious activity between a home and a vehicle on Victoria Road and found the two men were trying to hide a gun.

Both men have been prohibited from possessing guns.

32 year-old Perry Daniel MacKinnon, from Bay St. Lawrence, and 44 year-old Raymond George Gushue, from Sydney, are facing a host of charges, including Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Careless Use of a Firearm, Weapon and Ammunition, and possession of a Firearm while Prohibited.

They were arraigned in Sydney Court today and are now on remand ahead of bail hearings tomorrow.
