Tender Closes Today For Regional Hospital Expansion

A tender closes today for companies interested in managing the construction of an expansion to the Regional Hospital in Sydney.

The new building at the back of the hospital will be home to a bigger emergency department, critical care department and cancer centre.

The provincial government also plans to renovate the Glace Bay Emergency Department.

Hospitals in North Sydney and New Waterford will be torn down and replaced with community health centres that don’t have emergency departments.

Both communities will also get new nursing homes.
