Sydney Woman Charged After Attempted Armed Robbery

A Sydney woman appeared in court today after being accused of an attempted robbery outside a bank last week.

25 year-old Lizette Jane Dennis is also facing three counts of breaching probation.

Police say they got a report on Friday from a man who says he was at the Scotiabank on Charlotte Street that morning when he was threatened by a woman demanding money and claiming she had a weapon.

They say they found the woman was the same person arrested outside the bank on breach charges a short time later that day.

Dennis is now on remand and is due back in court for a bail hearing tomorrow.
