Spring Sitting Of Legislature Expected To Wrap Up, Today

The spring sitting of the provincial Legislature is expected to wrap up today.

The House of Assembly is due to sit from 9:00 until noon.

The government passed a budget during the session, projecting a small surplus of 33.6 million dollars.

The sitting was also highlighted by continued criticism from opposition parties over the government’s handling of healthcare.

The province also became the first jurisdiction in North American to introduce legislation that presumes consent for organ donation.
