Search On For Missing Person After Boats Sinks At Mouth of Halifax Harbour

A search continues on the water and in the air today for a person missing after a boat went down at the mouth of Halifax harbour, early this morning.

The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre in Halifax says two other people who were on the boat were rescued and are in good condition.

The boat was originally said to be a fishing vessel but is now reported to be a 13 metre commercial vessel.

The Rescue Coordination Centre says three Coast Guard ships, two other vessels, a Cormorant helicopter and a Hercules plane are all taking part in the search.

Navy divers haven’t yet been able to find boat that sank in waters about 12 metres deep.

The name of the boat has not been released.
