Regional Police Looking For Tips From The Public After St. Alphonsus Vandalism

Regional Police are looking for tips from the public after the former St. Alphonsus church in Victoria Mines was vandalized on the weekend.

The Stone Church Restoration Society is working to restore the building and turn it into a tourist destination and wedding chapel.

The Society has posted photos on Facebook that show racist words and symbols spray-painted on the building’s exterior.

It says a basement window was also broken.

The Society believes the vandalism happened on Saturday evening.

Regional Police say anyone with information can call their general number or Crime Stoppers.
