MLA Martin Resigning

Cape Breton-Centre MLA Tammy Martin has announced she’s planning to resign.

Martin says she’s stepping down after dealing with ongoing health problems since the summer.

The resignation will take effect on February 6th.

Martin was first elected in the 2017 election as an NDP member and has served as the party’s critic on the Health and Labour files.

She’s also served on the legislature’s Health, Human Resources, Law Amendments and Veterans Affairs Committees.

The New Democrats say Martin’s constituency office will stay open for the next few months to deal with open case files.
