Little Change In Jobless Numbers
Statscan says Cape Breton’s unemployment rate was 13.5% last month.
That’s unchanged from June of last year and three tenths of a percentage point lower than May of this year.
Nova Scotia’s jobless rate edged up a tenth of a point to 6.6 percent last month.
Nationally, unemployment also went up by a tenth of a point to 5 and half percent.
Statscan says the country’s economy lost a net 2,200 in jobs in June, when full-time job gains were offset by a loss in part-time jobs.
