Hearing Postponed For Nurse Accused In Hospital Death
A court hearing was adjourned today for a former nurse facing a charge of forgery after the death of a man on the grounds of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
48 year-old Valerie MacGillivray was scheduled to have a trial date set today, but the hearing was postponed until April 1st.
41 year-old Tammy Carrigan-Warner from Sydney River has also been charged with forgery in the case and is due back in court next month.
Both have been fired from their jobs.
The 79 year-old man was a patient at the hospital and was found unconscious on the sidewalk outside the building in February of last year.
Police say documents on the man’s status at the hospital were forged.
