Hearing Adjourned Again For Accused Former Nurse
A court hearing was adjourned again today for a former nurse facing a charge of forgery after the death of a man on the grounds of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
48 year-old Valerie MacGillivray from Glace Bay was scheduled to have a trial date set today, and today’s hearing was scheduled after the matter was postponed last week.
Today’s hearing was adjourned after MacGillivray didn’t show up, and an arrest warrant will be issued if she doesn’t appear tomorrow.
42 year-old Tammy Carrigan-Warner from Sydney River has also been charged with forgery in the case and is due back in court on April 30th to set a trial date.
Both have been fired from their nursing jobs.
The 79 year-old man was a patient at the hospital and was found unconscious on the sidewalk outside the building in February of last year.
Police say documents on the man’s status at the hospital were forged.
