Fort MacMurray company fined in death of Scotchtown man

A Fort McMurray company has been fined $450,000 under the Occupational Health and Safety Act after an explosion that killed a Scotchtown man three years ago.
Thirty-year-old David Francis Williams was badly injured in an explosion at the Long Lake oil sands upgrader facility in January 2016.
Williams suffered third-degree burns and was placed in an induced coma before he died in hospital 10 days later.
A second man, 52-year-old Drew Foster of Niagara Falls, was also killed in the blast.
