Former Head of CB Tourist Association Dies

Former Cape Breton Tourist Association Executive Director Don Blackwood has died at the age of 77.

Blackwood led the former Association for 20 years.

He was a founding board member of the Tourism Industry Association of Nova Scotia and a member of the provincial government’s Voluntary Planning Board for the tourism sector.

Blackwood was also a founding member of the New Waterford Coal Bowl Classic Basketball Tournament.

His funeral mass will take place at St. Leonard Church in New Waterford at 10:00 on Friday morning.
