ECMA Nominations Released
The ECMA’s have released this year’s list of nominees, including 17 artists from Cape Breton.
Heather Rankin picked up three nods for Folk Recording of the Year, Solo Recording of the Year, and Fans’ Choice Entertainer of the year.
Jimmy Rankin, Port Cities and the Barra MacNeils each got two nominations, with other Cape Breton nominees including Jillian Head, Dan Doiron, Mitchell Bailey, the Town Heroes and J.P. Cormier for his album with Dave Gunning.
The Gaelic category is dominated by Cape Bretoners, including Anita MacDonald, Adam Young, NicNeil and Kyle MacDonald.
The Celtic Colours festival earned a nod for event of the year, and Mike Shepherd with Lakewind Studios was nominated for Studio Engineer of the year.
This year’s ECMA’s take place in Charlottetown from May 1st to May 5th.
