Company Facing Charges In Death Of A Scotchtown Man Due In Court, Today
The company facing workplace charges in the deaths of a Scotchtown man and a co-worker in Alberta is due in court today.
30 year-old David Williams and 52 year-old Drew Foster from Niagara Falls, Ontario were doing maintenance work in a hydrogen compressor building when there was an explosion.
Foster was pronounced dead at the scene and Williams later died in hospital.
Some of the eight charges against Nexen Energy relate to ensuring a compressor was properly serviced.
Ensuring staff in charge of the machine had read its operating manual and safety rules is also at issue.
