Cape Breton’s Unemployment Rate Down In May
The latest numbers from Stats Canada show Cape Breton’s unemployment rate was 13.8 per cent, last month.
That’s a drop of 1.5 percentage points compared to April.
It’s a two-tenths of a percentage point drop compared to May of last year.
Meanwhile, the federal agency says the national unemployment rate was the lowest last month since comparable data became available in 1976.
The rate dropped three-tenths of a percentage point to 5.4 per cent.
