Bail Hearing for Woman Arrested Twice in Two Days

A Halifax woman who was arrested twice in Cape Breton in two days is now due in court today for a bail hearing after the hearing was adjourned, yesterday.

47 year-old Karin Tara Sorenson is accused of causing an evacuation of the Sydney Home Depot on Friday.

She was arrested after police say she armed herself with a knife and crawled into a shelving unit at the store.

Sorenson had just been released on conditions from Sydney Court after police say she was found wandering in and out of traffic on the Trans Canada in Groves Point on Thursday of last week.

In December, she signed a peace bond in Halifax after being found wandering in and out of traffic there.

Sorenson faces two counts of breaching courts orders and single counts of causing a disturbance by causing an evacuation and carrying a weapon dangerous to public peace.

She’s due back in Sydney court on May 28th to enter pleas to the charges.
