Regional Council Votes To Ban Nighttime Parades

Regional Councillors voted 7-4 in favour of banning nighttime parades at this morning’s Council meeting.

Council voted unanimously to limit all parades to 4 kilometers in length.

At their next meeting, Councillors will discuss having just two parades a year, one for pride and one at Christmas.

Today’s votes came after Council was presented with recommendations on parade safety made with input from Regional Police and municipal staff.
