Special Council Meeting On Sydney Library Today

Mayor Cecil Clarke has called a special meeting of Regional Council this morning to deal with the proposed library for the Sydney waterfront.

Today’s meeting comes after confusion over government funding has stalled the project.

The meeting will include a review of past feasibility studies for a new library, funding applications and an issue paper prepared by staff.

It will wrap up with a round table discussion on next steps.

The library has a projected price tag of between 18 and 31 million dollars.

The meeting gets underway at 9:30 at City Hall in Sydney.
