Garnier Trial Enters Second Week
More Crown witnesses took the stand this morning at Cape Breton native Christopher Garnier’s murder trial in Halifax.
The 29 year-old has pleaded not guilty to second degree murder and indecently interfering with human remains in the September 2015 death of Catherine Campbell.
Testimony was given today by two people who say they saw a man dragging a compost bin in Halifax’s north end on the night Campbell is believed to have been killed.
Prosecutors say Garnier hit and strangled Campbell, whose body was found near the MacDonald Bridge a few days after she was reported missing.
Garnier’s trial is now is its second week, and is expected to hear from about 40 witnesses over the next few weeks.
