Domoslai Trial Adjourned Until Friday
A trial has been adjourned until tomorrow for a Sydney man accused of plotting to murder his ex-wife.
53 year-old Roderick Domoslai faces five charges after being accused of trying to have Dawn MacNeil killed.
There were dramatic developments at the trial this morning when Domoslai’s lawyer, Laura McCarthy, asked to be removed from the case, citing a breakdown in solicitor-client relationship.
Domoslai says he can retain a new lawyer, but wanted the cross-examination of a witness to be delayed until next week.
Justice Gregory Warner says he doesn’t want to adjourn for too long, and wants to hear from Domoslai’s new lawyer tomorrow.
The latest witness to take the stand was a North Sydney man who testified he took money to arrange a murder.
48 year-old Erin Maxwell told the court he got 20-thousand dollars from Domoslai to carry out the job but had no intention of going through with it.
He says he just wanted the money.
Prior to today’s adjournment, Domoslai’s trial had been scheduled to run for 10 days.
