Whycocomaugh march for justice
Around 70 people took to Main Street in Whycocomagh to march for justice in the death of 22-year-old Cassidy Bernard.
Led by drummers carrying hand drums, adults of all ages and children clad in red and carrying red dresses gathered outside the Whycocomagh Education Centre at 10 this morning, and made their way down Main Street across the bridge to the Skye River Trail.
Cassidy Bernard was found dead in her We’koma’q home in October, with her healthy infant twin girls located nearby.
Other than to say the death wasn’t a random act, RCMP have been tight-lipped about Bernard’s death, continuing to refer to it as suspicious rather than a homicide.
The RCMP continues to ask that anyone with tips regarding the case to contact them or Crime Stoppers.
